Internal tools are usually plain and scattered. EA wanted one portal where new employees could get set up and find the people they'd be working with. It also had to feel like EA, energetic and game-forward, while staying an everyday tool for thousands of people. So how do you put the games on every screen without them getting in the way of the work?

We built the home screen around a new hire's first days: a personal welcome, the handbook, today's onboarding sessions and the teammates they'll meet. Employees pick a theme from EA's own games, and the art sits behind a calm, dark interface whose layout never changes. The directory finds people by what they do, because a new hire is looking for someone in audio or QA, not a name. Onboarding, people, IT support and training now share one navigation and one design system, which is why the pre-order dashboard and mobile app that came later look like parts of the same product. We also gave the portal its own brand, EA Work, and wrote the guidelines so the teams adding to it kept the same look.
